Titanic Memorial Garden

One might never expect to learn too much history of the Titanic in the small town of Cork, Ireland. But that's exactly what happened when I traveled there a few years ago.

While taking a bus tour that departed from Dublin, Ireland, we made a pit-stop on our way back in Cork. There, I learned that the Titanic ship was constructed there.

The Titanic Memorial Garden is a quaint little garden near the center of town. It's located by the Courtroom.

All of the names of the victims of that tragic night are listed on a large marble stone. There are also placards telling the history of the Titanic.

In fact, most of the city capitalizes off of Titanic memorabilia.

It's a fairly small memorial garden, but one that is very powerful. I'm not sure that I would have ever intentionally traveled to this city just to see a Titanic memorial, but given that it was a part of my tour, I made the most of it.

It was a great little stop that allowed me to stretch my legs after a long trip back from seeing the Giant's Causeway, the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge and the Dark Hedges.
