Payson Lakes
Payson Lakes are some of the most pristine lakes kept in Northern Utah.
I've traveled to these lakes on a number of occasions. They are great for fishing, camping and simply hanging out.
You can only travel to these lakes during the summer. The roads leading up to them are closed down in the winter due to excessive snow. I found this out the hard way after driving up the road late one fall afternoon. I assumed that the pass would be open since there hadn't been any major snowstorms yet, but it was already shut down.
If planning to travel to these lakes, I would double-check the dates that the lakes are open so that you don't spoil your travel plans.
Once you wind your way up to the lakes, you'll notice that there are several places to park. Because the lakes are so well-maintained, there are paths circumnavigating all of the lakes and intersecting multiple times.
I've spent time wandering through these trails, and at every turn, there's something beautiful to see. I would recommend taking a camera with you wherever you're at in these lakes.
I've also spent several mornings and afternoons fishing here. The fish are plentiful and I've always caught multiple fish every time I've gone. The variety isn't all that great, but it's always a good time.
I vividly remember taking the above picture when a storm came rolling into the area. As long as you have a camera, you too can always remember moments like these in Payson Lakes.
