Gaudi Park

A trip to Barcelona wouldn't be complete without a visit to, of course, La Sagrada Familia. However, I would argue that a Barcelona trip would also need to include a trip to the infamous Gaudi Park (Park Guell).

This is more than just your average park with trees and grass. You could spend an entire day here exploring up and down stairs and pathways, looking at the intricate designs.

This park was created by Antoni Gaudi - an artist whose influence cannot be escaped in the city of Barcelona. Gaudi is the one who designed La Sagrada Familia.

His style is so unique and immediately recognizable, you can instantly see his influence throughout the city. He designed various buildings all throughout.

The Gaudi Park was designed to be a bit of a spectacle where one could wander for hours on end and get lost in the design details.

The park itself is perched on one of the highest points in the city. When planning out my stay in Barcelona, I determined to take the metro to the closest point by the park. It still took 30 minutes of walking - almost all uphill - to get to the entrance point. The long, strenuous walk was worth it in the end though.

There are so many different paths you can take as you maze your way around the various pathways. There are buildings and design concepts everywhere you look.

This is easily one of the most unique and fascinating parks you will ever see. All around the park are food trucks and other shops selling Gaudi memorabilia.

This park is definitely worth the visit, despite the steep climb.
