The Louvre Museum
The Louvre Museum is perhaps the most famous museum in the entire world.
That's likely because of its sheer size and volume of collections it contains. Not to mention, it holds the Mona Lisa - the most famous painting on the planet.
One could easily spend an entire day from sun-up to sun-down exploring everything the museum has to offer. Some could spend an entire week or more looking closely at everything.
The museum is massive.
When I went here for the first time, I remember trying to find the entrance. The building that the museum is housed in is so large that it spans several blocks.
Of course, there's the famous glass pyramid in the center of the museum. And underneath there is near where the entrance is located.
There will always be a line at this museum, so it may be best to purchase tickets here beforehand.
I made the mistake of deciding to go on the first Sunday of the month. For those that don't know (and that should be most of you) you can get into virtually every museum in the city of Paris for free on the first Sunday of the month.
Except for the Louvre. Still - it's a busy spot any day.
I remember being fascinated by the amount of gold and other pieces of artwork displayed in the various halls.
There's just so much to see, and I had very little time to see it all.
The next time I'm in Paris, I'll be planning an entire day to see more of all that this famous museum has to offer.
