Santa Fe, New Mexico

Have you ever travelled to New Mexico? Let me tell you, there's not much there (no offense to current residents...).

I travelled to Santa Fe, New Mexico by car. And let me tell you it was quite the long road trip without a lot to see.

When I finally got there, I got out of my car and explored the surroundings.

I would highly recommend bringing water. And lots of it. It's so hot there. You will constantly be thirsty.

There are some nice scenic hikes, however. Including the one featured in the picture above.

I wanted to hike on the side of a nearby mountain. So, I set off and discovered the trail in the photo. I found several of these very well-maintained trails along my path.

It would seem as though I could have wandered around these trails for the rest of the day and been satisfied with my time spent in Santa Fe.

There's plenty to see and do in the town itself as well. The second day that I was in Santa Fe I made my way to the main town square where several vendors had set up shops to sell things.

Elsewhere in the city everything is calm and serene. Most of the houses are in the old adobe style which makes for an intriguing backdrop - as most houses blend into the surroundings.

While I don't necessarily recommend the drive there, Santa Fe, New Mexico has small-town desert charm that I wouldn't mind enjoying again sometime in the future.
