Las Vegas, Nevada
Living in Utah has kept me within relatively close driving distance of Sin City. Las Vegas, Nevada is a bustling city that never sleeps.
I've visited the city on multiple occasions - sometimes even staying for an entire week.
Each time I leave the city, I feel dirtier than when I came in. And I'm not even doing the bad things that go on there. It's just the vibe that goes with the city.
Don't get me wrong though - I love visiting here. There's so much to offer.
Because most people come here to gamble all their money away, the food is cheap to attract the gamblers.
Well, that mostly pays off for people like myself - who don't really gamble but eat a ton.
I've also attended several sporting events here in Las Vegas. I've been to the West Coast Conference basketball tournament, which is almost an entire week of basketball games. I also went to the infamous BYU/Utah Las Vegas Bowl game a few years ago.
Another reason I've traveled down to Vegas is for the cheap flights. You can often find cheap flights from here because so many people are traveling here to gamble from all parts of the globe. In fact, the second time I went to Europe, I had a direct flight to Stockholm and back from Las Vegas.
Sure, there's all sorts of bad that goes on in Sin City - otherwise it wouldn't have that nickname. But, there are lots of benefits a local (well, a 5-6 hour drive local) can reap while staying in this bustling city.
