Rimini, Italy

Italy is one of my favorite countries to travel through while in Europe. Perhaps it's because there are so many cities with so much history. You can essentially go to any city in Italy and find something you'll enjoy.

That's the case with Rimini, Italy. I never had intentions to stay in this city and explore much.

My brother and I were staying in Venice at the time and thought that it would be fun to head down and visit the micro-country of San Marino. A great idea in theory.

It's quite the train ride from Venice. It was around three hours just to get to Rimini. Then, we had to take a bus for a 45 minutes to get to San Marino.

We had planned to stay in San Marino longer than we did. We simply couldn't find a ton to do. Which was fine, because on our way there we had noticed lots of ancient ruins in Rimini that we wanted to check out.

So, we came back a few hours early from San Marino to explore a little bit in Rimini.

We wandered around the whole of the city. We traveled across ancient bridges (as shown in the picture above) and saw other various ancient ruins.

There wasn't a ton to see here, but we saw enough for the time that we had. A few hours gave us the time to wander around most parts of the city, hang out in a park and stop for dinner.

We even had time to head to the beach to look around. It's a massive beach on the coast. It was just a little dirty for my taste (at least compared to most of the other beaches I've been to in Italy).

All in all, the biggest takeaway from my experience in Rimini is that no matter what city you travel to, you can always find something new and interesting to explore.
