Goshen Mine Ruins
The other day my friend called me up wanting to go on a 'short hike.' I obliged, mostly because I couldn't think of a good excuse to get out of it. We contemplated for a good-long while about where we would go.
He was then reminded of a place that one of his friends had been to recently. He quickly Facebook-stalked her to try and get the name of the location. When he was unsuccessful in that attempt, he called her.
She told us to head to the Goshen Mine Ruins - conveniently (or not so conveniently) located in Goshen, Utah.
Now most people who live in Utah have never even heard of Goshen, Utah. This is likely because it's not a main city located on the busy I-15 Freeway. You have to take Exit 244 from I-15 and turn right onto U.S. Highway 6. From there you just drive. 10-15 minutes later, you've arrived in the quaint town of Goshen, Utah.
Traveling a little further into Goshen are the Goshen Mine Ruins. Our GPS told us to keep driving a little further, but we parked the car right where the road changed from pavement to rocks and dirt. Probably a wise tip for everyone.
From there, we set out on foot to the mystical mine ruins.
It's around an eight minute walk is all from where we parked. There are a few lakes to the right as the trail slowly rises to the mines.
They are covered from one end to the other in graffiti. Upon arriving, I found a partially-used spray paint can and added a bit of my own graffiti (you'll have to go and guess for yourself which one is mine).
There are endless spots to take scenic pictures in this location. I thoroughly hope that you enjoy the view, the pictures and the lovely trip to Goshen, Utah.
